Leather Innovation » Firebloc II
Pittards' Firebloc II represents a significant leap forward in flame retardant protection for glove and footwear leathers.
Building on the success of previous fire retardant treatments, Firebloc II uses advanced polymer chemistry to allow even greater penetration of the leather than has ever been achieved before.
By attaching itself even deeper into the fibre structure the new treatment becomes more effective at resisting and inhibiting the spread of fire for longer, passing FAR JAR test requirements for both 12 and 60 second vertical burn. This revolutionary new treatment not only improves the fire retardant properties of the leather, it does so without any impact on the essential characteristics of the original leather or any other treatments. Firebloc II leathers remain soft, supple and breathable while continuing to resist water, oil and stains.
Which is why the Firebloc II process is universally applicable across our range of textures and complementary technologies, including CIG camouflage leathers, and will perform to EN 407 6.3 on leathers down to .65mm thickness.
The benefits of Firebloc II are:
- Improved consistency and performance
- Longer effective life
- Effective on thinner leathers
- Soft, supple, water and oil resistant
